You all hear me talking about the F70 Quick Broom. Shallow clad stabbin and totlottin has got to be the quickest way possible to stack up the clad. In tough digging or thick turf, manicured areas..stabbing leaves absolutely no trace. I think these areas must be avoided by other detectorists, who dont feel comfortable digging a plug there. Probably rightly so, you sure would not want to be caught digging a hole in certain locations no matter how well you can do it. The areas I have hit hard are not getting reseeded with fresh drops as fast as I thought, except for the totlots of course, but then again you gotta get there before anyone else does. When it comes to turf, man, get good with a screwdriver and drop sens, and sweep it up! I'm generally out for a few hours every morning I can, and then at work, even on the weekends I'm usually back by noon, seems I'm only good for a few hours concentrating anyway. Just finding a goodly amount of coins after a few years hunting this close to home is getting tougher. I'll start tomorrow am hitting as many totlots I can as fast as I can. This method may become a popular hunting style of this sport in a few years. Anyway, I thought some of you might be interested in how many coins are out there just laying around, and IF a fellow did nothing else but hunt clad what would the yearly numbers look like? Theres another poster called BH_Landstar that not only gets way more clad, but also a healthy pile of silver coins to boot..He's got some interesting posts, and I've learned a lot from reading them.

Well, in your own right, mud, you certainly are an inspiration to the clad hunter. Although I lean toward the older stuff, I enjoy a little clad sniping once in a while and have learned some things from you. If you get 4 or 5 more days of weather break, you will be home free on the 10,000 mark. Lots of coins mud. And, good luck. HH jim tn

Thanks Jim, I'm up plotting the run...I'm 503 away...Theres about six schools I'll sweep, hoping for a honey hole where the snowpiles were along the entrance doors, and general totlot loot. This forum is sort of like an old timey campfire where we help each other become better hunters and better people by sharing our mutual love of the sport and Life in general. Zeek had a lot to do with putting me on to the joys of clad hunting when I first started coming in here, thinking, Hey, heres a guy 20+ years older than me, swings the same machine, who can rack up thousands of coins...I'll give it a go. you on the other hand, consistent silver and old stuff finder, thats a skill I'm looking forward to working on. Then theres the water and beaches to hunt. Man! Well, I'll certainly try to just buckle down and whack out the last 500 as fast as I can, looks like the bad weather will freeze up the totters and ground by tuesday . Hey Kensingtoncoinhunter, YES! That local Coinstar guy must be getting pretty ticked! I tumble everything tossed in together, pull out the shiny coins to spend or roll, and run the rest through his machine!
