To invest in the larger coil. If you have one and use it on iron laden sites how well will it separate, and how much extra depth could I expect in soil low in minerals? Man that is one expensive coil. Thanks

It seperates very well for it's size. The main thing it does is give more coverage. I would say you can get about two inches deeper with it. I used mine in an area that I pounded with the small coil. Friends and probably others through time also detected there. I took the large coil there and found a few more keepers. It just covers the ground better with each swing. That alone can keep you from missing targets. The stock coil is wonderful for heavy iron and trash areas. But the large coil offers another dimension to your hunting. I feel confident that I am hitting the deep stuff with it. It does make the deep targets easier to identify also. The only down side is the balance of the coil. It is not as ergo friendly as the smaller coil. There are adaptors available now in the States that do help. But now your talking even more money. At first I really didn't like the coil. Big; Heavy; Not as easy to pinpoint with. But I forced myself to use it by leaving the small coil at home. The best way I can sum t up is like this. I have no idea what version 3 or this new 11 inch coil is going to be like. But as of right now the large coil offers a few things that you can not get with the small coil. I love hunting with the Deus. I want everything it has to offer. If I find a large field or even the beach the large coil is a no brainer. Even taking it over a well hunted small yard or grass area will probably result in a few more targets. If you are holding on to to another favorite detector for field hunting because it has the big coil you know what to do.

Thanks for your reply.

George I use a 15/12 on my t2 &I just tear it up.

Found a used one at a reasonable price had to look for several months but finally got one have only got to use it for about a hour heavy compared to the stock coil not sure it is a lot deeper have not had time to use it enough. Hope to get started next week. Got the part ordered to make the shaft go in the middle where it is not as nose heavy. The stock coil looks tiny when I put it back on there now. Glad I got one but can't tell you a lot about it yet. Has much better ground coverage for sure but not sure about depth have not found any thing really deep with mine yet.

That was my same rig with my T2. In boost process it was awesome. Very light weight. But I can say this with no regrets. There is nothing like the Deus for our style of hunting.
