I just sent a couple emails to Midland Hight School. Looking for the owner of that 1937 MHS class ring I found earlier this year.
Have sent emails to the Midland High school newspaper and to the lady who runs the school yearbook 'club'. I could find no listing for the librarian but between the two of theses I have emailed I am hoping someone will get back to me.
Would not want to drive to Midland and find they have no 1937 yearbook or other info about the graduates of that year. (Gas prices are still to high.)
Sure would love to thumb through that yearbook to see, not only about the ring's owner but what people were doing back in 1937. Things had to have been still rough as they were working their way out of the Great Depression of the early 30s. I imagine the class ring was an expensive item...given that frivilous - non-essential - purchases may still have been hard to make after living through the Depression. This might have been considered frivilous at the time, when needs came before wants. Guess this is another reason to see the owner gets it back...it would have meant a lot to have it and meant a lot of pain when it was lost.
Here is hoping the ring and the owner can be reunited.
