Nice finds, impressive as a group. If I could find one coin so old as those, I'd be perpetually tickled plumb to death!

Have you tried NimH or NiCad batteries? The pdf manual states rechargeables can be used. They simply won't last as many hours per charge as Alkalines, and will tend to fail quickly once they do run down. Just keep two sets or carry Alkalines for backup.

My nicad 9 volters last two or three of my typical hunts.

Does the T2 have an actual click-switch on a knob for power? If so, it fully shuts off. The Time Ranger has "soft power" switches that constantly draw a miniscule amount of juice. Not much, but over a few weeks it will run down the batteries, so I always disconnect them after a hunt.

I'm STILL waiting on my loaner to come, but of course I don't expect to find near the variation nor quality of those coins around here. But it will be relic hunted.
Very, very nice Scott. Looks like the hard work paid off :)

I too really like this idea as I know when I turn it off it is off and will stay off. Some detectors that have the push button have been known to come on when bumped, but the T- 2 wont.

we were supposed to get wailed about two weeks ago but it didn't happen.grounds still kinda soft so..bring it on.now only if we got an early spring, life would be good.
