Here is a picture of the first portable PI detector made by me in 1967. Features include separate TX and RX coils, 22 pulses per second, 10A peak current, 75uS delay time, differential integrator and output on meter (no audio). Design was well balanced, traditional materials used in construction (wood) and used digital and analogue I.C.'s.
Also did this to test my scanner which arrived at long last. The first one I had to send back as the mechanism only moved about 2in and made horrible noises. Now I can post graphs, waveforms, formulae and other historically interesting pictures.
Eric.
