Octagon shaped, non-magnetic

pplinker

New member
Found this at a very old home site where I've found 1830's coins. It is octagon shaped, very heavy. The center hole has lines which could be rifling if this was part of a gun barrel. But seems like a gun barrel would be iron or steel, this is non-magnetic.

It seems heavy like lead, but lead is soft and this is hard because you can't cut slivers off with a knife like you can lead.

Was this possiblly swagged onto a large piece of cable?
