finally got to go out and do some serious beach detecting for the first time this year. spent 8 hours in the water yesterday. dug 96 coins, 8 pairs of sunglasses, 3 pieces of junk jewelry, tons of pull tabs and bottle caps, and 1 staple. but what I wanted to tell everyone, "if you didn't already know this". silica gel packs work wonders inside a metal detector. eric sent one when he sent me my gqas-v2. I didn't think anything about it so I just set it aside. went out detecting one day and noticed moisture inside my control box. I looked at it real good and couldn,t see where it could be leaking. so i figured it was condensation from opening up the box in an air conditioned environment. then going out into the heat. I hunted yesterday and noticed I could run the sensitivity at max. or very close to max. even in waist deep water. the waves didn't affect it as much either. with the high humidity here i'm going to put them in all my detectors. HH willia.
