I hit the water with the ATP right at sunrise this morning, didn't even bother to stop at the Fast Food Drek House, as I had some sweet watermelon and 3 fresh peaches from the fruit stand. Some kinda good!! The ATP was humming right along, giving me some coins and trash and other assorted things. Everything was fine for most of the hunt, but about the time it was starting to crowd up and I was getting ready to beat feet outta there. I started getting some overloads and low tone signals..weird sez I!! So when I set the ATP down to take off my gloves and get a cool drink I noticed something off wit the display. Water!! Under it!! Dangit!! Oh well, I was gonna send it in anyway for the upgrade. And since I was shipping, I put the other ATP in there for the upgrade too!! And the Propointer I drowned a couple of weeks ago!! I asked then to disconnect the speaker on it, remove the light and plug the holes up so I can go in the water with it, that would be sweet!! That oughta keep 'em busy for a while!! Guess I'll have to fall back to the M word detectors for water hunting next weekend.

Heres a pic of my water hunting gear. Seems somebody asked to see my floating screen. I just refurbished it yesterday with new 1/2" screen and Noodle floats

Yes, I do wear gloves and a PFD!! Danged near drowned last year!!

And here's the loot!! No gold or silver, just a couple of junk earrings and a junk pearl bracelet!!

And the ATP faceplate, see the little crescent of water in the lower left....dangit!!

Now, am I discouraged that one of my ATP's leaked?? Heck no!! They are such a pleasure to use that I'll just keep sending them back and using them till they break...which hopefully will never happen again!!

Thats a nice set up BCD, noodle floats seem to B very popular with water hunters.Since your in Texas maybe U can get your toys back before next weekend, and the upgrades will please you.

I've always been a kind of a "like water off a ducks back" kinda guy. I do get a bit peeved now and again, but for the most part, just let it roll!!

You've got a great attitude BCD, but anybody else out there wondering just how waterproof these AT PRO'S really are? I know they sold a good number of them, but the fail rate seems to be growing. Falsing, pinpoint button issue, water under the screen, less then quality ergonomics, etc. Me thinks they rushed it out a little too quickly. Thank god their service seems to be top notch. I think we'll see an AT PRO 2 out soon.

I've had all of those problems and have had them repaired or will soon, but I don't think there's any way Garrett could have field tested enough to work out all the kinks just using a few units. I don't believe I've ever seen a totally new unit come out by any company that didn't have a few flaws that needed to be addressed. Even with the early flaws, I'd put the ATP up against danged near anything I've seen out there. I'll keep right on using mine and sending it back if need be until it's pretty much flawless.

I wish, but probably more like next week sometime if I'm lucky. I just dropped them in the post and they won't even get there till Wednesday. I can manage tho, still have plenty of MD's in the arsenal!!
