:wiggle:OK guys I was just remembering days gone by. And I miss them .I remember sitting on the alter as my mom and other women would pray(for hours) and the power of God would fall and things would happen Lost saved, sick healed, people would come in and the presence of the Holy spirit would be so strong they would run to alter. The youth services would be a major prayer service and the main service would just join us . Has God changed ? don't think so ,we have changed and not for the better.I'M GUILTY . Remember every service ended at the alter Not just standing and saying a prayer. Now have to get out the door so we could be first to the restaurant , are the cowboy game starts at noon . I don't mean to offend anyone ,I'm just hungry for a HOLY GHOST revival all over America .That's what America needs that's what I need. I feel God has to punish this country or apologize to Sodom& gamara and I don't see that happening.

Now we need to change back to how the Lord wants us to be!

the Lord said these things before about countrys changing their ways and sometimes they didnt - & suffered annihalation. Sure hope we can change, steve in so az

I agree with you 100% bossman. We still go to the alter at our church , but not like we used to. GOD is still calling us be we are not answering sad state that we are in. It scares me to even look around and see what people are doing that GOD does not agree with.

Amen to what you've posted bossman and the devil sure didn't want you to put it on the forum and that is why it too you 3 times to get it posted! Three is God's number! I am quilty too of not being where He wants me to be in communication with Him and doing His work and witnessing but I try when I can do so! I'm not a speaker but I sure can write posts, letters and poetry praising our Lord God Allmighty in Jesus' precious holy name!

Some churches these days don't have an altar...just steps leading up to the preacher's platform! When I was going to church, we had a long wooden bench and believe me it was used as people prayed and wept for our nation and the unsaved, especially loved ones! I was led to the altar once and just bowed my head and prayed because God's Holy Spirit told me that if I went the rest would follow and they did! One young man was saved that night and just doing simple things reaps much for the Lord! Never quench the Spirit because God will correct His children! I know as I've been there!

His Holy Spirit left me after I didn't read a really good poem that was written for the young about drugs and etc! There were a lot of young people in church and being new at writing and reading poems I wouldn't read it, as it was really strong words for the lost who commit sin in the world! Well, I was without His Spirit for a week and I promised God that I would give my sister a cute little ceramic rabbit that I kept in my bathroom! He said give, Carolyn, that rabbit and I said, But, Lord, I love that little rabbit, for it was leaning on it's back and laughing! Not like most of them but I agreed and took it down to her when I went to visit her and go to church with her that night and she was saved! God knew exactly what she needed to go forward and accept Jesus as her own personal Savior! I was blessed and He will always bless us when we love and obey! He also gives us a whipping when we disobey just like our own parents correct us, for He is our Heavenly Father and we are Children of His Kingdom!

Thanks for posting and hope you post often! We need to hear from our brothers and sisters and encourage one another! Keep the faith be cheerful, for Jesus is alive and still on His throne! God Bless! Betty

Ahhhhhhhh... I too remember those days! Still happens at my church from time to time, but nearly as often as I'd like. I'm hungry for that Holy Ghost revival too!!!!

but you are right...other things seem to 'be more important' and that is our fault not God's. BTW welcome to the forum.

Amen brother. Our nation is far from God and getting farther. Our churches are suffering also. Even those who profess to be strong Christians are starting to grow cold in their faith. Church is not the main focus. God is not # 1 in our lives anymore. We all need a Holy Ghost revival. A revival in the church cannot happen until there is a revival in the hearts of the Christian.
