of the 35 bullets i found in the cornfield, three are carved.
not sure what they were making with the carved bullet on the left.
the enfield in the center has four pocketknife slices out of the side of it, and the base has been crimped.
on the right is an enfield - 57 base, carved down to make the numbers visible.

it's an early warning sign.

watch out for people with almanacs.
dirty bombs.
anthrax.
small pox.
there's terrorists hiding around every corner.
geeez.
and if the terrorists don't get you, well then...
there's west nile virus.
sars.
lyme disease.
aids.
mad cow disease.
fungus from digging in the dirt.
