This happens every winter. They pretty much guarantee us that we are gonna get some significant snow fall and then, 9 times outta 10 (usually, 10 outta 10) they end up having to go back and "eat crow" because they missed it. They can be soooooooooooooooooooooo sure of themselves, yet end up giving us the same old story about how the conditions just didn't come together like they'd first thought,,, blah,,,blah...blah..... This winter we have been through this scenearo 4 or 5 times already. Got a smidgen of a dusting once this year, and the only REAL snow fall in the state was not even predicted to happen!!!!! Now, here we sit under a winter storm warning... again. Will it happen this time???????????????????? Weatherman says so, but down here, we all know he's a liar!
"Crying wolf" again? Or, are we about to actually get some REAL white stuff?????
Here is the map for watches and warnings for us. The bottom of the dark red 'watches and warnings bar' is the Alabama/Tennessee state line. The counties in PINK are in the Winter Storm Warning area. Counties in tan are in the Winter Weather Advisory area. I put a yellow X on my county (Etowah), and put a red splotch on where I live in the county.
Guess we'll see what happens THIS time around. Hoping for some snow!!!! But not enough to kill the power or completely shut us down. They are saying MY area could get up to 4-6 inches, and higher amounts on the mountain tops.
