Okay everyone! I appreciate the prayers but the 91 Toyota didn't pass....

inspection, until they install a new seat-belt on the driver's side! It is frayed and stretched so much that it won't go back into its holder and isn't tight enough to hold me like it should! The lap seat belt is just fine! I kinda figured it might happen that way and did! The head honcho of the Autotire Shop, said it won't pass without a new one installed, so including price and installation the cost will be $269. and a little change! So waiting for the best to come in so I can go back and get it done for passing inspection! My license renewal is due by end of this month, Sept. I did have an oil change, the inspection today, and new Air Filter, because a mouse had chewed the older one! Been two years or more since I had the Air Filter changed, so wasn't too unhappy about that! Field mice get into my garage and thus into the car, if they can! Had them in the Mercury, but not the Toyota until now! Just put it back in garage in June, after Troy and Tami came and got the Mercury which has been repaired and will be using! Filled up with $22.64 in gas before the inspection, and the total of the work done today was $40.00 plus!

Then I spent almost $300.00 on meds, groceries, a few misc. items and for a new electric two-burner hot plate, as I am tired of not being able to cook because of my range-top not working and only using my oven, electric skillet and Microwave! So along with the new belt and installation and license renewal, I will have spent my SS Income for the month and it is only Sept 7th! Not complaining...just explaining the circumstances of my day! God is good and I did have some coupons off on the inspection and oil change and another $20.00 one to take off the $269 bill! Prices are getting so out of sight, that I am needing a ladder even more so to reach the food, as I am a shortie and difficult to reach the top shelves! :sadwalk: Tired tonight and was up by 8:30 am which is very early for me and had a busy day....have a bad neckache and backache which was hurting while shopping and then putting cold stuff and perishables away! :stretcher: But done for another month, well I hope so anyway! Love You, Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your providing me with what I do have in Your love and mercy! Amen! Ma Betty

GOT TO TELL YOU MA BETTY ... I WISH I LIVED CLOSER TO YOU SO I COULD GIVE YOU A LIFT TO WHEREEVER YOU NEEDEDC TO GO. GLAD YOU WERE ABLE TO DO ALL YOU 'NEEDED' TO DO. GOD BLESS.

God can make good of all situations!

prayers are answered with what we want, many's the time I have been downhearted because things didn't work out from my prayers only to find that things turned out better later on. Steve in so az

this guys sure like to take advantage of women as for the rats ,get some rat-bait before they multiplye

Thanks Ron! God is still good and I don't complain when He answers prayers differently than I would like but common sense knows He does answer all prayers in the best way! Read on and see what I have to say!  Ma Betty

Thanks Martin, but our prayers were answered in the way that is best for me and since we are both not able to live healthy most of the time, we sure would be funny trying to get things done, together, although I know you are capable of doing more than I can, being a man with knowledge of many years! I have trouble just doing housework these days! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Mike and He has for me already, for you see without a good seat belt working properly, I wasn't very safe from being tossed and thrown in an accident because of the right seat belt being so ravelled and loose! Wrapped the left one for the lap around and around to tighten it more but still wouldn't really have protected me but only God through His faithfulness has kept me from having any accidents! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus! Answered your email and hope all is okay with you and yours! Ma Betty

Hi Steve and thank you for all the prayers you pray for me! I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, but was so tired and ill after getting everything done and putting frozen goods and perishables away, I was extremely exhausted and sick! All prayers are answered by God, and He answered this one for my best, for you see, I wan't protected by the seat belt I have and a new one will be much better! I know it is costing a lot, but the installation cost is probably running the price up! I have a 91 Toyota Tercel and there aren't many parts available for it, although, a salvage yard might have a good used one available, but I can't be running around to find one and then finding someone to install it, which would cost anyway! Now, I will have protection, although being tight-fitting again, I will feel like my head will be cut off in an accident because I am such a shortie, it is around my neck, instead of upon my shoulder! The lap belt is still okay and retracts like it should! It is just the right seat belt is ravelling, very loose and won't retract any longer! To be safe is better than being sorry, even in God's protection, for the law and Common Sense tells me to do what needs to be done! I was just hoping I could go for another year without replacing it and, actually, I didn't realize that seat belts have to pass inspections, too! All govt's get our money coming and going! Also, give the auto repair persons more work with paychecks coming! May God Bless! Amen

Hi CJM! I do trust Rick, who is the Manager of Autotire where I go for inspections and repairs! He has been very honest with me and wasn't even going to put a new airfilter on until I told him to do it! I guess it worked even with a mouse chewing on it! I have put mice bait out and two have died since putting the Toyota back in the garage, but still were getting into it! Dead mice smell and I'm sure dead rats smell worse and also chew larger holes for more damages done! :crylol: I need to get the junk hauled away, so they have less to hide behind and make their nests....but I am able to do only a little at a time, healthwise and financially!

I just looked at my bill and the belt costs $168.99 and labor $101.00 which is $269.99 and then tax will be applied! But I was given several discounts on inspection, oil change and labor, so I feel like I was done right on that part! I will be getting a $20.00 discount on the seat belt and installation, which I know is probably over priced because that is the way the auto repair shops make their money and a lot of it is hard work tearing down and putting back! So far, I trust Rick and when I find out he isn't trustworthy, I will try and find some other place, but so far I have quit Sears, and two other places! My brother worked at Sears, as an auto mechanic and he would work on my car by request, but Sears was charging way too much for their parts and labor...Larry had no control over that, but would apologize to me for having to charge me what I had to pay! He did work on my car in my garage, too, many times to keep the 1977 Mercury up to par which I owned from 1987, but drove since 1984 when mom and dad died, until I quit driving it in 2007 when I needed more work done to pass inspection. My power of driving a stick shift in the floor of a heavy-two-door car with no power of any kind had depleted and found the Toyota Tercel, so much easier to handle, drive and park! Praise God for providing me with it when Larry went and bought it and practically gave it to me before he died in 2007! God is good and has provided for me in many different ways through the years of being by myself and having to handle everything! I couldn't have survived without Jesus and His all-forgiving-agape love for me! He provides and will continue to do so, even if the world cheats to do me harm! God is greater than he who is in the world! Amen! :;angel: Ma Betty

i lived down the street from you so i could come over and fix your car!!!!!!

Thank you Seeker41 and my son-in-law has offered to repair my A/C from leaking and recharge it but he lives way down south of me in Benton, MO....and driving up here or driving down there would be costly with todays gas prices! They aren't in good health with not much money either although both work, so they can't really come up very often! Your offer is greatly appreciated along with Martin's...but living far away does not help me with my problems, so pray for me instead! :) May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
