I had noticed a spot where an old farmhouse used to be but everything was frozen at the time ( house burned down in the '70's). A housing development is being built next to this property and when I took a drive by on Friday I saw that someone had cut a couple swaths with a bulldozer from the road into the area where the house had been - took the turf off to about five inches down and filled in the foundation. I went there Sat afternoon - 1867 two cent, 1858 flying eagle, 1860 fattie IH,
1873 IH (photo #1). Also eight wheaties including a 1911 & 1918, and five 40's nickels. In addition six flat buttons (photo #2), a watch fob and a sterling pin (photo #3). Went back Sun. am with my detecting buddy ( another hunter got there just after we arrived). My buddy IMMEDIATELY on the first swing found a silver ring and later found a Merc. There's a farm field next to the house where I found some artifacts (photo #4) and an unidentified coin (photo # 5) which I could use help on. It's copper, SLIGHTLY bigger than a penny but much thinner. In the photo you can see a crest or shield and above that there's a crown (hard to see in the photo). Can't make out anything on the back. I think it might a German state maybe late 1700's- early 1800's.
