Old Farm/Ranch House hunt

kickback

New member
I hunted an old farm/ranch house yesterday afternoon. It is way out in the sticks.Found $.11 in clad.Found a 1954 Ben Franklin Half dollar,1940,1944,1945-D,1946-D and 1957-D Wheaties.A 1945 Canadian penny.2 old metal toy cars,2 old metal toy trucks,a silver plated spatula/serving tool and a bar of,what appears, to be pure lead.I used my M-6.I ran in 7 tone ID,Discrimination at 0,this seems to get better depth than higher discrimination.I have to run the sensitivity at 80,if higher it falses alot, lots of alkali and some iron, magnatite(?) in the ground. If you run a magnet through the soil it comes up with little particles that look like fine hairs on it.In a real trashy spot the low discrimination would drive me crazy.Bill
