Haven't anything better to do so I was hoping we can all post some of your past finds to pass the winter. I'd love to see some of the things I never find, (gold rings, gold nuggets, privy finds, etc..) Doesn't matter if its a pinetree shilling or a extra fine war nickle. Let's share some stories. This 1820 bust dime is my only one and was found at a 1900 house which apparently occupied a previous site. We found other early 1800's coins. Got permission because this was a friend's grandfathers place. Picture may be a bit blurry (camera issues).:veryangry:
 
I dont know how I missed this post. Here is my favorite jewelry find,not sure of the
exact age or gold content. I t was found around a victorian home slated for demo
by me in 1979. I never think of what my finds are worth to anyone else,because
to me they are priceless :biggrin:.

[just kiddin] elton, that sure is a nice collection there. what an accomplishment. and mr. coinnut, it just goes to show that there are no taboo questions in this hobby. [there is, we wont talk about them right now!] hahaha, oh what fun it is...
 
A lot of, and I mean, a lot, of old farm sights. Old home sites inter city,and miles of sidewalk to curb detecting.

Here was a real good hunt for me. It only took about 40 minutes to clean out a nice, but small, playground. It was gravel and most of the pennies were on surface level. Many were partially visible.

The gold bracelet and pendant were a neat payoff.

Wow. Quite the hall!! It's an amazing hobby. Some places only yield clads, but you get rewarded with silver and gold. (and let's face it, silver and gold can really pay for your machines). In our area it's old coins, but not much in value due to corrosion. Every place has it's loot. Great finds for one outing!!!
 
Yes that's exactly what I'm looking for. If you could come over and bury it for me to find, I'd appreciate it:clap:. Seriously, some great finds. Have been waiting a long time for a silver dollar. Got a counterfeit one, but not the real deal. It's always amazes how we can probably remember each and every place we dug our coins! Nice finds!!!
 
Hey Terri, Judging from the design on that, it's probably dates that house. It sure looks Victorian in style. Nice find. Brings back some nice memories of when that popped out I'm sure. :clapping:

Coinnut- AWESOME 1820 dime!

A friend of mine dug this one. Is yours the "STATESOFAMERICA" variety, too, with the words crammed together like that?

I personally have yet to dig any Bust dimes- the only Bust coin I have found is a holed 1829 half dime.

How 'bout this? This was a mindbender when I dug it. I saw the sun rays and thought it was a Walker. But... nooope!

WOW! A commemorative half I presume. You'll find a couple of hundred Walkers before you find one of these. Congrats:beers:
 
Nice Dime. Love mine, but it's not that variety. Great find. They are hard to find. I have only that one, but this year is another chance to find some more! Congrats to your buddy, I know how his heart must have felt like!:hot: At first you can't believe your eyes. And its hard to get rid of that stupid smile for the rest of the hunt:crazy:

Five silver halves: one Barber, two Walkers, one Franklin, and the Oregon Trail. That's another reason it blew my mind when I found it.
