Old homestead.

This is a place over in Eastern Washington that I want to go back to. I know there has to be some old coins there someplace.........:) HH.

Eddie - If you go to this site in Eastern Washington remember that the soil matrix is very different than the West side so sometimes your readings can be very different. Also, wear your snake chaps!

Are you from that area? If you are, do you have any Explorer XS settings for that type of dry soil? Thanks and I will be sure and get me some of those snake chaps. HH.

I live in Seattle, but have done some detecting on the East side of the pass. If you want to say "Hello" come to the Gold Show at the Monroe Fair Grounds this weekend. I will be in the booth named "Fossickers" showing off my new Gold Pan. It will be fun.

Not a word you hear everyday. At least I don't...

I have a club hunt on Saturday and if we can't hunt there on Sunday then I may try and get over to the gold show. I have always wanted to do some gold panning, but since I am still working, metal detecting when the wife will let and honey do projects that have to be done maybe someday I will give it a try. HH.

Howdy Mike,
You hit the nail right on the head! You're right about "Fossicker" not being a word you hear everyday. If you go "Down Under" it is used to describe what we call a Prospector. I got the name when nugget hunting in New Zealand. No, I didn't use an Explorer, but I use my ExII quite often with deadly results for other items.

Eddie,
Mike is quick on the draw. I like that! The weekend may bring sun and better conditions so good luck on your club hunt if I don't see you at the show.
