OLD MILITARY BADGE OR PIN

Hello. Can someone out there help me with identifying this old military badge or pin? The front has crossed cap and ball rifles with the letter L and on the back it has a star. It is all brass. I would appreciate any help. Thanks! U.S. Army Infantry Lapel pin Company L,it is probally from WW2.HH,Tom
 
Tom, did the WWII have that type of weapon on the pin? I was thinking of the N1 or some other so thought his was from the CW.

I have id'ed the darn things before but just went blank.
 
that has been the insignia for the Infantry,probally since they started using the collar disc.Same as the one I wore when I was in.HH,Tom
