Old people

No, I haven't modified my Elite 2200 to find old people. What I learned is that sometimes old people are aware of where revival meetings used to be held, where old one room school houses used to be prior to the building of larger modern schools and the busing of kids to them. They know where old churches or stores used to be that no longer exist.
Last week I was on the phone with a great grandmother friend of mine. (she calls me her third son) I help her with chores she is unable to do herself. Anyway, she told me she was raised in a community called Cinnabar. It now is shown on maps as Cinebar and there is no longer a community as there was when she was a child. As we were talking on the phone, I was on google maps following along with her descriptions and locating where her old single room school used to be and where the local neighborhood store used to be. Those are places I want to explore with my BH.

Those of you that know some older people might pick their brains about places to go MDing.

Oh yes ! Being an old person (that's the first time I've referred to my self as such), my parents were into the "tent revival" thing. I can remember where every meeting that was held in Modesto, Ca (where I grew up). For years you could spot them by looking for an area that had a large sawdust slick. It was a cheap floor to keep your shoes from getting muddy. Any place that gets little weather, should still have identifiable sawdust slicks, like the southwest, still. That was a good idea, Mr. long user name. But for me, it's too far to Modesto. Ya know, that's where I first fell in love with a girl that sang in the quire but then I learned every little boy at the tent meetings was in love with cute Joanne too. But that's another story.
Oh, in those days, circus' carnivals and big picnics were either held outside or in tents. Another place that should be good are those places that are only used one week each year, but have been in the same places every year. The local Fireworks stands. Good hunting, Ron.
