Across the street from my house,is a huge farm field. There is a creek running throught it that meets the road just a little way down from me. I have a map from 1916 that shows a school where the creek meets the road. School was torn down in the late 40's.
They just plowed the field yesterday so I am going to talk to the owners tomorrow and then go give it a try. I can see their farmhouse out my front window.
About 4 years ago I talked to them about this and the they told me no problem,go for it.. I did try it way back then but didnt have much time. I found 1 indian ,a couple of wheats and a 46 dime. Since then I have been trying to get back in there but either was too busy ,too cold,wet or the field was planted. It is about perfect conditions right now.
I just hope they let me in there again.
