.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................MB, there is a Tesoro Mayan on ebay right now!!.....................Joe

:detecting: Yep I have a bid on it, but the Mayan is not a motion machine and is not very deep. if you want a non-motion machine machine the old Bounty Hunters are pretty good and usually cheap. I had a Mayan and a Inca when they first came out. The Inca is much deeper and better machine for most all uses. The Mayan is simply a nostalgia machine for me. You can pick up a Compadre once in a while for less than a hundred dollars and it is a great on and go machine. It will beat the big boys a lot of times in a trashy area. I just missed one for 60 dollars on Craigslist. I have a Silver Umax and a Vaquero and they are fine machines. The Silver is a great grab and go machine if there is not too much mineralization in the soil where you hunt. Another old timer! Bill in Texas

Thanks for the info Bill,

I ended up buying a Tesoro uMax. Not because I need another detector (bought 6 or 7 over the last 16 months or so), but because I like it so much. I've owned about every Silver made and 3 were the uMax. I sold my last uMax cheap a few months ago to someone who was desperate. I missed it too much. But Richard gave me a very good deal on another one.
Now I need to locate a good used 12x10 concentric for the uMax. Have one you'd like to donate to the poor? :nopity: LOL

Best to you my friend!
