Omega 8000 help

Took her out for the first weekend and had frustrating results. Found some clad and nothing below 3 inches. What settings are you guys using?

Tell me about your experience with the ground grab/ground balance feature

I know this is a great detector I just need to get past the learning curve.

Does it air test well? My Omega goes plenty deep on coins so I'm trying to verify there's nothing wrong with the coil or detector.

The majority of finds are shallow for several reasons... are you finding deeper with the other machines? If so, try finding a deeper target and switching to the O before you dig and see what changes it takes to hear it on the O. Fresh GB off target, but near; change SENS and DISC settings, etc. It should see deeper than your other units with equal coils.
HH!

I would recommend a new user to keep the sensitivity just below 70 as to keep it out of the noise (it still should go at lest 6" to 7" in the ground)
Default tones.
Ground grab in AT (auto tune) in a clean area of ground.
Run your disc up to up around 48 to 50 that will leave nickels. Now if your just plying with the detector and not seriously hunting then you could max out the discrimination and then maybe notch back in nickels.

Don't over think the Omega! yes its simple, but its made to work like that.
