Omega 8000 question

I'm thinking about trading my Fisher cz5 for an Omega 8000 that is new in the box. My question is will the Omega be at least equal or better than the performance of my cz5?
The cz5 is a deep coin machine and I love hunting with it, but it does tend to get a tad bit heavy on long hunts and I really don't like hip mounting the cz. I have read quite a bit on the Omega and it seems to be a good coin detector with good depth. Just curious if there is some pro's and cons with the Omega vs the cz5. Thanks.............Roger

Never used the cz5, but I can tell you the omega is deep and can pick out the coins from the trash. Yesterday with an 11"DD in trash I dug a quarter signal at 4 inches, in the same plug I found a metal ink pen and a .22 casing.

Of course we're all different and a lot of folks prefer a good car and don't care for a 4X4 of any kind, so maybe it's not a good comparison, but for me it is. I've owned a CZ-6 (original), a couple of CZ-5's, a CZ-70, and a CZ-3D. of them all, I hated the 3D, didn't like the 70, and DID like the CZ-5's overall. Not the best depth but reasonable, and they did pretty well on 5

Monte, Thanks for your thoughts on the Omega. I have read all I can find on the Omega and it is all pretty much positive except for a couple of EMI problems some users had.
I have been detecting for 30 years and used mainly Fisher detectors all those years, cz6, cz70, cz5, and a cz7 a pro, plus the 1260, 1265, and 1266. I do like the cz units and have found my share with them, but I'm thinking parts could be hard to find for the cz's in the future so it may be time to try something new and modern. I'm not the type to like all the different programs and menus on a detector and the Omega looks to be pretty easy to operate. I appreciate your help with my questions on the Omega...thank you.

Roger

I have a Omega and a CZ-70 and several other detectors And I would Not trade my CZ-70 for a Omega if I didn't have one, I use all of my detectors, Keep in mind that the Omega doesn't get much depth when its dry,My CZ still finds silver dimes at 8" depth when its dry,if you
have hard hearing you want hear a 8" dime (weak audio) at depth. HH:detecting:

Cache Man, Thanks for you reply. I know my cz5 will pull coins deep in any conditions and if I traded it for something else, the new unit would have to be pretty damn good. The
Omega seems to be a popular detector and I'm sure it has several good features about it. It sure would be nice to test an Omega out in my hunting areas first, but I have no dealers close to me. Maybe I will just keep what I have and forget about an Omega for now. thanks for your input............Roger
