Omega 8000 > T2 - Finds and Why I think so

Ok, 2 hrs and my second or third time out with the O8000. 11"DD coil, Sensitivity at max most of the time (I did try it lower in the iron with targets but it didn't seem to matter), Disc at 16 (per Dankowski's recommendation), d2 most of the time (tried d3 a bit too).

.I went back to a spot I had hunted with the T2 (many times). I got a pretty clear signal and dug up a reichs coin. I think it is from the early 1900's. I really don't know how I missed that with the T2, the iron wasn't too bad. (There has been a lot of rain lately but I always went out with my T2 after a good rain (and days later).
Next, just a few minutes later. I got a signal but it wasn't hitting in all directions. I dropped disc to 0 and heard lots of iron and barely (but clearly) a target coming through. I dug and found the small "Hitler" coin at around 3". I went though more of the same areas I had been through profusely with my T2 and pulled more coins. The most notable was a "Maxi Joseph K

You basically answered them all.:

#1.. It is just one of the "most fun detectors" to use!

#2.. Ample control and easily adjusted.

#3.. It works, and it works well.

Glad to read your report and it looks like you'll have another "new oldest coin" coming soon at the rate you're going. Keep up your posting.

PS: When you work that 5" DD coil, make sure you learn the best sweep speed for it for your hunting conditions. Also, some VDI readings might be 'off' a little but that's to be expected. Beep ... DIG!

Also, I usually run d2 for the Iron/Non-Iron audio, but I also like d4 for more modern US coins that are relatively shallow. The d3 and d4 tone options will give a little more saturation at the higher Sensitivity settings, but I still favor the d2 as I can hear the deeper, weaker targets (when I listen) and the pinpoint mode, or switching to All Metal and setting a Threshold, does add to the depth when needed.
