Omega 8000 vs X-Terra's for Coins

Please no wars on this but I would like some opinions on these two detectors for coin hunting. Hope some of you have used both. I have used the X-terra's but am wondering if I'm really missing anything by not trying the Omega? I also have a T2se which I used last year with excellent results. Just wondering if the X-Terra or a Omega would be the best backup? Anyway I'm sick of winter in Wisconsin and looking forward to getting back into more detecting this year after my retirement. Thanks Joe

I've use both. I would recommend the Omega to back-up the T2. The ID numbers are the same and both have a super fast recovery speed. Not so, with the X-Terra.

Additionally, the Omega is lighter and better balanced.

Very interesting! Was looking at the Xterra, guess I will look at the Omega. I have the T2 so would it make sense to get the Omega? Primarily coin shoot on dry ground.

I have the Omega and the X Terra 70, I still use both (not at the same time:)) and I thin both are great detectors. As Tabman said, the Omega is a bit lighter. but they are both great on coins/jewellery. I guess it depends on whether you want a machine that is similar to the T2 (I dont have one), or something quite different. You cant go wrong with either, as long as you are prepared to be patient while learning the X Terra. HH
