Having never used a detector with notch ability, I have a question. If I were to discriminate out all of the junk through pull tabs, and then notch back in nickels, would the detector pick up a gold ring? Thanks, Snoop
 
Yes and yes but some rings will come in at the pull tab area. You have to be willing to dig the pull tabs to get the rings.
 
More gold rings will ring outside the range of nickel then within the range of nickel, so yes you could get them with your setup, but you'll most likely pass over more then you'll find with that setup.
