Omega and LTD do the Island

My wife and I just got back from a wonderful week on St Simons Island and she allowed me to bring both my Omega and F 75 LTD detectors along. Over all, I did do a good bit of detecting. Some on the beach, but more so in the turf. The Omega snagged the best coin find, a 1915 Barber quarter. It was nestled down about 4" among the roots of a big old oak right along a sidewalk beside a small park. The Omega also sniffed out a 44 Merc, 1904 IH cent and the top of what is probably a gold filled ring with a green stone. It also shared about equal of the 12 wheat cents in total I recovered along with the clad and Memorial cents. I used the 10" coil on the beach and the 5"dd when hunting in the dirt/sand. The 5" coil hit numerous coins in the 6-7" depth range. 1 clad quarter was the depth of the pro pin pointer. Although faint, still nice and repeatable with pretty good i d. Coins can really get deep in that coastal Ga turf. For the most part, ground balance was in the mid to low 50's and was able to hunt almost all the time with 99 sen and 1 disc. The LTD got the 925 silver ring in the dry sand and the other 2 silver dimes and the 1 1900 IH from the turf. 60's there yesterday morning when we left and low 40's here this morning. Looks like you did very well. I was thinking about taking mine to Hawaii next year
