Omega coil(s) question.

jim tn

Well-known member
Some of you I suspect are running the 13" Ultimate or the NEL 13" Tornado on your Omega and I have a couple of questions.

How is the stability of the one you are using, does it i d close to the same as the stock coils and how is its depth compared to the 11dd? (If you have that coil.)

Thanks,

HH jim tn

After i got my 11" Teknetics Coil, I have no more need for my Tornado NEL. Not so deep but enough for me. Precision and Stability are better with the 11". My opinion.

I use the 13" Ultimate coil on my Delta, its the same coil for all the greek series, I noticed its off a bit on pin pointing (red circle on picture), but depth and ID are still ok, I really need to go out more with it, I have not been out for almost a week and its killing me...

Thanks guys. I have heard of some really deep recoveries made, particularly with the Ultimate, and then some remarks that it is not much deeper then the 11" DD. ?????? HH jim tn

I think it depends on the soil that you are hunting. I had nothing but good luck out of my ultimate coil, it was deeper and seperated crisper than the stock coil. also covered a bit more ground with each sweep. The people who put 8 or so hours on them and call them no good aren't being reasonable, I dont care how dang long you have been detecting, objective data is objective data and unless you have legit comparisons on identical targets with identical settings...then you are just giving an opinion....and we all know what they say about opinions. The ultimate coil is a better coil than the standard FBS coil....that's my conclusion after using them both in many different conditions for almost a year. I didn't try it for a couple hunts and give up...I used them both and hunted hard with them.

Good post LttleJohn, and so true. I know a fellow that has the Ultimate and he says the same as you about their performance. Thanks! HH jim tn
