Omega Coils

For those using the Omega, how would you rank the three different coils on the Omega, as #1 being your favorite and #3 the least favored? , between the stock coil, 11in. DD and 5in. Thanks

Although I use all three, depending on the site, my favorite is the 10" stock. It is light weight, has almost equal depth to the 11" DD, works well in trash and it pin points great. HH jim tn

Allan im one thats fortunate to have an Omega with the three coil package.Of the three coils personnally i rate them as such.Number one the 5 inch inch dd coil, fantastic seperation very good depth a pure joy and pleasure to use at the large park that i live next to.Second would be the std 10 inch eliptical coil, soething about that std coil that not only hits hard on coins but seems to id well and give you a good seperation of the four tones for it seems to hit that medium high tones on nickles better then the other two coils at least to me .Third would be the 11 inch dd coil very good for wide open areas and maybe a little better on depth but i havent found it to be that much better then any of the other two coils.I love the ease of the 5 inch coil the pinpointing and the way it seems to hit on any coin target its almost like it has a footprint much bigger then the size of the coil.It is my favorite of the three.I keep that coil on my Gamma and switch back and forth from the std and 11inch dd on the Omegs since i have lower rods for all three coils makes it much easire to change over.Im sure others will give you thier views and what works for one person may be diff from the next. Most my hunting is for coins here in central Illinois....Have a great summer and best of luck to You.....Markmac

HHHHMMMM???? I wonder about my Omega. It was good with the 5 incher, but really did not like either the 11's or the 10's performance at all. IDs just didn't seem to be what they should and pinpointing was inconsistent. I thought it was just me until I got the Gold Bug and saw how much better the same coils worked with the same user. I still prefer the 5 for speed and weight. I don't seem to see anything deeper with the 11 where/how I am hunting, so its just harder to use and fatigue factors make it a second choice on both machines.
