Omega coils

Between the NEL Hunter (8.5" X 12.5") and the stock (7" X 11") coils on the Omega.----Has anyone used these two coils on the Omega and noted any appreciable difference in performance?-----Is the Hunter coil more EMI "resistant" (more stable--smoother running) than the stock coil?------------Del

Looks like not Del........ But maybe they just have not read your question yet...

I responded "JUST SO IT " didn't look like your were talking to yourself ....

Oh, that's just SOP with me Elton---I talk to myself (and my detector) ALL THE TIME! :lmfao:----Where's ole Jim at???---I'll bet he's tried one & just ain't sayin!;)

The NEL Sharpshooter coil is quieter than the stock coil on the Omega.

I never did try other then F T coils on the Omega. I am using the Sharpshooter on another detector and it performs great. I never had/have emi issues with that detector, so can't say for sure the NEL coils are better in handling it, but do think they are. I would be inclined to agree with tabman. Think I am going to spring for a Hunter myself. And maybe another Omega. I miss that detector. HH jim tn

Jim check with me before you jump.

Thinking about trying the Hunter myself to see if it will help with the EMI problem the Omega has, however I'll probably buy the digger coil for the 705 before I spring for another coil for the Omega.

I now have the Hunter and Sharpshooter. I'll let you know more on the Omega and Euro Pro when I get a chance to test. EMI is absolutely nuts at my house but a quick test of the Hunter and it's not worse than the 11". Possibly slightly better with EMI with a little more depth and coverage.

At my house I'm most excited to test the sharpshooter this weekend. It seems on par with the stock coil on depth but possibly better with EMI (not that the stock is bad, it's great actually).

I have sharpshooter, stock 10", and hunter to share between machines now.

Hunter is about the same on EMI after testing further. Same but bigger so it is a bit better. Deeper in center area. VDI little more jumpy than 11" on heal and toe. Great coil. Have a g2 coming so can do some head to head on both machines.
