Omega, helping a friend out

Hey gang
My friend want to get into metal detecting. I have been detecting for 5 years or so. Ive owned alot of machines since then "F75, Tesoros etc". He is looking to get a mid range detector. Money wise he is looking to spend around $500. My first thought without reaserch was a F5 or and Xterra. Then i stumble on the Omega. Its a bill more than he wants to spend and i have some questions.

How does the Omega handle bottle/screw caps? "On my F75 they were a nightmare to deal with. I know this isnt a F75"
Wheat/memoral pennies. Do they ID the same as dimes? In both tone and numbers? "Agian most machines cant tell the diffrence"
Is the Omega worth the $100 diffrence over the Gamma?

Thank you
EZ

i can't really help to much i did some air testing most of the signal was broken up but when it did read good it would come in as a quarter and high tone which is comon but i think if you get use to the audio the signal might be broken up on one side or another it's not totally smooth like a coin would be
