One major difference on the SE and XII is pinpointing.

I went out with a guy with an XII and I had my SE, we both had Sun Ray X1 probes. In pinpoint my tone gets louder and higher pitched as I near a target with my SE or probe, the XS doesn't, His exact words "I gotta get me one of them" It really helps you locate the distance from your target, in fact, I'm getting to the point that I don't even bother looking at the depth reading anymore, I'm just using the tones now. It's way faster and there's almost no chance of scratching my targets.

Seems on my X-8 coil I can run the sensitivity 2-3 notches higher and run stable. The pinpointing is better but I feel the sensitivity thing is way more advantageous. I have had only about 3-4 hours total on the SE but I do think its a better machine.

HH,

It works super but it is rarely needed with the new coil. I use the wiggle method and the target is right at the point of the coil.
