One more little find from this weekend

Here's what looks like a small piece of silver. It also appears to have a tiny cross on it or a plus sign. It was found on an old farm where I found that 1880 penny and the miniball. Does anybody know what it is? It could be just a piece junk..I just dont know.

That is pretty darn interesting. Very unusual, and if it's silver, it's even more interesting. I wonder what number it came in at?
