I had a pretty good week in terms of silver finds. Today marks my sixth silver with a 1942 S war nickel.
The wife and I got some stuff done today as we're heading out of town tomorrow for a few days, and I figured I still had some time left to do a quick hunt. So off I went detecting for about an hour at the old school and found the war nickel with a drill hole. I haven't a clue whether some kid was just goofing off and thought it would look cool around his neck, or worse, did he drill it as a memorial to the year his father died in the war? I guess we'll never know.
As you can see by the pictures this coin was completely on edge at around 3". My Safari couldn't decide if it wanted to give me a silver or nickel tone, so it gave me both! Talk about having the hardest time pinpointing...hence the big plug.
See ya'll next week and HH,
Ray
