I am wondering if you are not eligible for Social Security Disability if you cannot work. Maybe something to check into. Apply when you can because once it is approved they pay from the time you applied to the time approved. Some people have gotten lawyers to help with this. Usually the govt wants to deny it once or twice before finally approving it. Doctors records are your proof so talk to the doc about this. The lawyers may take a big chunk out of the initial amount you would get but then you don't have to wait a long long time for it to come in.
