to take your pics... A scanner works great on coins and buttons. just a thought after seeing a guy trying to get a good pic of his coin finds...

Even a cheap scanner will take a better pic than most macro modes on cameras....

much better. However...I LOVE to see the beautiful pics of different things that people post on this forum. Kinda of hard to get pics of the kids on my scanner.
 
I used a clear glass dish or plastic wrap to keep my scanner clean from dirt and scratches!
