recently sold my gamma 6000, really miss that bugger soooooooo I went and bought a omega 8500 with the cash I got of the gamma

what can you tell me guys about it?
I also have a 11 dd coil that was planning to sell, should I keep it? is it better than the 10 elliptical concentric coil?

any input would be helpful

thanks guys in advance!

You might search back through several pages and see some comments. Numerous posts on the 8500 have been made since it came out. Mine was deeper then the 8000, but seemed to false a lot. HH jim tn

Ive read them but theres a lil on them

I know a lot of people prefer concentric coils but I have both the stock concentric and the 11 DD for my F5 and F19 and I could part with the concentric if I really needed the money but not the 11 DD. Depending on your ground conditions you might prefer one or the other but personally I'd keep both.

but if I part out the stock and buy a 5 inch?

Depending on where you want to hunt, the sniper coil could be a good idea but the 11 DD is a totally different coil and its purpose is different. I have the 5 inch coil also. It's a good coil in trashy areas but I don't use it half as much as the 11 DD. To me the 5 inch coil is a superb "finisher" coil after you have cleaned out an area with a bigger coil. It can definitely unmask targets that the bigger coil can't but it takes a lot of patience to use it as it covers so little space with each swipe.

thanks man, the detector arrives on Monday Ill put the 11 coil and take it for a ride! I really like how it works on parks on youtube videos, I asked all the youtubers if they like the 8500 and all of them are really really happy but recommend me a bigger MD for relics, glad I have a cz6 heading my way from fisher labs

Fisher/Tek 11" DD coils are really superb coils. My 11" and 5" see the most use. Great for a trashy park environment hunting. Be sure and let us know how the 8500 performs when you get it. HH jim tn
