optimal frequency for my area?

Hello,

new deus user here. The area I detect in has very high mineral content and lots of iron. Most place I'm in have also lots of surface trash. Would that make the lower frequencies better to use?

thx,
Dave

I would use 12khz or 18khz.

You need to bury a dime at 6" deep.
Sweep, lower your disc to 7.
Set silencer to -1
Play with your Reactivty setting.
See which setting gives the smoothest tone on dime with decent sweep speed.

If you can detect a 6" dime with high tone.
Bury a little deeper and again play with your Reactivty setting.
Be sure to have silencer at -1.
You need a good ground balance, default 90 won't cut it. Will rob you of depth in your ground.
Bob your coil over clean ground and see what the mineral strength meter reads.

I highly encourage you to load versions 4.1 into your detector. Better performer in mineral.
