I dug up just under six dollars. Also got some vintage items.

I used to save shotgun shells and make rings out of them. The brass shines up real nice.

Awesome! With the vx9? If so, what was your impression of the update? Thanks!
Well, I was searching for coins, and it really didn't have any issues in my location. The area has been hit hard my many other seasoned metal detectorists, yet I still managed to isolate some good targets amongst the trash. There were a lot of bottle caps, in their final stage of rusting. I used my stomping method on them on several occasions, in which case the ID actually improved and it turned out to be a coin. There will always be situations where masking will influence the ability to change a targets id, and in the worst case, even cover up a signal. That's why it's always recommended to run the search coil over a target in different directions if you get some good sounding chirps.
