I got out on Saturday, but I didn't find anything. Using aerial photos from the 1920s I found the location of a torn-down railway station. I think it was built in the 1911 - and torn down in the early 50s. That site is really old for Calgary - We only became a settlement in the late 1870s, and most of that original settlement is now under sky-rises.
I went to the site, and dug a couple of targets, but the railroad is still running, and this time of year the ground is like digging through cement - It took me almost 20 minutes to dig down to a plug of melted copper, and another 20 to find a rusty nail (putting out a high-tone silver sound).
Anyways - it was mostly a recon mission. I got silver & copper sounds in quite a few more places, and found the old wagon trail that people used to drive to the station on. It parallels and existing city street. I can't do anything about it with the soil hard enough to take 20 minutes to dig one hole - but next Spring when the ground is soft & wet - I'll be back.
