Outlaw Warranty Query

Tee1up

New member
Hey folks,

First, a Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends!

I bought an Outlaw in late September and have had a great time with it - no problems.
The problem I have is one of my own making though. Two weeks ago i came across a posting about the need to send in your warranty card within 10 days of your purchase. Well, long story short I didn't do this. I checked my packaging material and I don't see a warranty card but it is possible I misplaced the thing. I sent an email to tesorosupport@hotmail.com along with a copy of my bill of sale, serial number, etc., wanting to know if I had voided my warranty by being late with this. I heard nothing back so i sent it again last week. Still no response.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Am I the author of my own warranty doom?

Thanks in advance.

Tee

Phone call works much better than e-mail. I've experienced no response to e-mail too. Could try a PM to Allcav through the forum.

I don't think I'd would worry too much. They are very good at supporting their detectors as long as it hasn't been modified or obviously badly abused.

You have the serial number, the sales receipt, I see no worries, Tesoro is second to none taking care of their customers. I have sent them an email or two over the years and I might get a reply or might not but if you call the factory you will get a person on the line and if they happern to be busy, they will call back. Great buch of people @ Tesoro.

Hi Tee1up, the guys are telling you right! Phone call to Tesoro will ease your concern, Tesoro has been treating their folks right from their beginning, and know what Great Customer Relations are all about! HH Charlie

Check with the dealer you bought from, when i bought my Deleon he stated that he was responsible to fill out and send in, so i let him do it otie

 It has been my experience too that Tesoro does NOT answer emails. I guess the reason is only known to them. On the other hand, every person I have spoken to over the phone has been very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Don't hold it against them. It's their priviledge to interact with customers the way they see fit. I am very happy with Tesoro and you will be too! :) Have a great Thanksgiving weekend. RDF :tesoro::detecting:

Thanks all - left a message on their voice-mail. Appreciate the comments.

Hi TVR,
Do not send emails to anything with tesoro.com, tesoro.com doesn't work.
tesorosupport@hotmail.com is my email. I answer all the mail I get. Its the only thing besides tech calls and forum watching I do.

Ya any good at milking cows :poke:

Thanks Robert. It was quite a while ago that I last tried e-mail; don't recall if it was tesoro.com or not. I used what ever was shown on the web page. I see the web page shows the hotmail account for tech support and some other topics but still shows tesoro.com for web page questions.

Sounds like a charmed life. I bet SkiWiz could teach you to milk cows. As I recall, first milking is about sun up and second one is about sun down. And there is plenty to do in between!
Cheers,

Hi AllCav,

Yes, that hotmail account is the one posted on the tesoro website and is the one I used.
Sent November 20
Subject : New Tesoro Outlaw

I've left two voicemails with them since then (with my phone number); no response.

What Tesoro really needs to do is have an online warranty registration system built into their website.

Hmm strange, very strange. I have never not got anyone when I called them. Matter of fact just a couple days ago I called the factory so I could find out about purchasing a nut for the headphone jack that was lost on my Compadre. The phone rang a couple times and the lady who I call the nice lady (I believe she said her name is Christine) answered the phone and I explained what I needed and she said no problem just give me your name and address and they would mail me out one free of charge. Not sure where you are located Tee1up but Tesoro is 3 hours earlier than me here in New York so I have to remember not to call them to at least 11:00am my time. Their products & customer service is great.

Every time that I've called, someone picks up on the second or third ring. I always call during their business hours.

I don't know how they did it so quick but they did it. I called yesterday or the day before and told them I wan in need of the nut that goes on my Compadre's headphone connector & when I got home from a meeting at school for my son this morning I went to the mail box and there was a package from Tesoro with the part. From Arizona to New York @ the speed of sound, thanks a bunch Tesoro!!!!
