any info from anyone whose been here and done that? also which of the mid pricd units are best for the area? Thanks chuck SEEYA!!

PI machines are great on a beach that gets hammered by VLF detectors. They (VLF)keep the shallow stuff cleaned up, but the PI goes the extra 6 inches. In Florida the sand shifts and people tell me they lost something and where they did and three hours later it's 4 or 5 inches deep. If it's gold it goes down faster. lighter objects like pull tabs and foil which ring as gold on VLF get cleaned up and they leave the heavy deep targets. I lived on Cocoa Beach and had a Excal, CZ 20 and a Deepstar. If I was the first to the beach the CZ was good, but being a working person I could not always make it there first. It was fun following the others and find a nice ring behind them. Don't get me wrong they found some nice stuff in front of me. But I didn't see to many follwing the PI . In ending they work fine, But don't disc. so if your in the water they are good. If you are going up in the powder sand on the dunes forget it , too much junk. Happy Hunting Kurt

THANKS KURT! say with vlf.some are better than others, which of the p.i.det.have proven to work best? thanks a lot! chuck SEEYA!!

As with anything price goes with quality. Low end ,but good value Garrett Sea Hunter, I have a Barracuda and a Deepstar Both are good machines with the Deepstar being the more powerful. Service on the Barracuda is non existing. So if you buy one, good luck getting it fixed. Pulse Power who makes the Deepstar/Aquastar has great service and updates on thier detectors. Water machines take a beating in the surf, so quality is important! Watch Ebay and the Buy/SellTrade on this forum. With the snow falling up north, you can find some deals on a used detector.
