Packing detector for flight.

Wondering if the X-ray machines at the airport would damage
my Xterra 705 control box and coils.
Has anyone packed there's for a flight?

The X-ray won't stand near the chance of hurting it that baggage handlers will. Best advice is to pack the shaft in checked-in luggage, and take the control head and coils in your carry-on. Take the batteries out, but keep them with you to show them that it's nothing more than a functioning metal detector if asked. NO LITHIUM batteries.

I have packed mine to Hawaii and Mexico in my checked bag, like longhair said just dont leave the batteries in the machine(checked or carryon). I take the 6" coil for space. Never an issue. I just unscrew the head and check the screw driver as well.

Absolutely the same routine I follow. Never had a problem. Poles in checked baggage and the rest in the carry on. Never even gotten a funny look from the scanning people.

I have flown twice a year for 5 years now with my toys.

Now diving regulators often get looked at.
