Pantera Question.....

I know that the notch window can be adjusted
to make it wider; to include a zinc penny /
or in other words, make it a wide notch window
instead of a narrow one.... Any one know internally
how to make this adjustment?? I don't know that I will
make the adjustment but it would be good information
to know anyway....

my impression was that the notch could not be widened. Moved up and down yes, but not widened. When I got mine, Monte helped me set it up, and said that it was fixed(the width). There are only two pots inside that can be adjusted. One was the ground balance coarse adjustment and the other ???. The other was right beside the threshold trimmer, so I thought it had something to do with that. My way of dealing with the zinc's(which I pick up anyway) was to set the notch right below where it would cut them out. That way it crackles a little for zincs. You can usually tell a zinc anyway, if you dont want them. They sound louder and more abrasive than a copper penny or dime. I set the notch at about 5.75 to get that to happen though. It should be slightly different for yours. Let me know how you like your Pantera!

It can be done but I don't know how. I bought a Golden Sabre II from a guy who had done it. If it can be done on the Golden Sabre I'm sure it can be done on the Pantera. If no one can tell you how try calling the factory.

It probably is that second mystery pot that is on the board. One was definately the GB, the other didnt respond in any manner, but I didnt try the Notch! Since the Pantera is the GBed cousin to the GS, that second pot probably is the the notch adjustment.
