park 3-11-11

Back at the park after getting off of work this morning, hunted for about 7 hrs with both detectors at 4 different areas of the park, I used the Omega with the stock coil in the less trashy areas and the Cibola with the 5.75 coil in the worst areas. Total finds with the Omega were 6 quarters, 11 dimes and 17 pennies ($2.77) gb was factory setting, sens was at 60 because of all the surface or barely buried trash, disc was maxed out in an attempt to limit the amount of targets I had to check out. My finds with the Cibola were a bit better but then I was hunting closer to the buildings with it, 1 one dollar coin (found this in an area that I had already hunted with both detectors with their stock coils, also had another good coil spill find with 2 quarters, 2 dimes and 5 pennies coming out of 1 hole) 7 quarters, 13 dimes, and 31 pennies ($4.36) Not a stellar day for the time I hunted but at least it finally stopped raining so I could get out, and the coin finds are getting to be spread out over a wider area now so its going to take longer and longer to find them. Good deal Jimmie! Just getting out is rewarding and enjoyable. With spring and summer coming, maybe the good townsfolk will start to replenish the dwindling supply!:detecting:

I sure hope so, for some reasons our parks don't get used all that much anymore, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to drive thru when I have the chance so I can see the area's that are being used.

Man this is getting spooky. I keep seeing other people writing down what I have been thinking of doing. My last day off coming back home I passed an open field by a subdivision that is apparently used by local guys and gals to supervise ball games, ball practice... ball something! there were kids all over getting instruction from this guy or that gal, and people sitting in fold out chairs in one particular area. And I would have never known it if I hadn't driven by at that time. So my thoughts turned to my next days off and taking a saturday and sunday afternoon to drive around town and see who is doing what and where. Sure would help to know that information if I want to maximize my finds! Guess thats a form of research, maybe find a way to claim the gas on the taxes for "job hunting"!:bouncy::detecting:

Heh with the price of gas nowdays we ought to be able to deduct it for something

I don't think parks are being used that much, unless a spacial event was going on.

I need to get the transmission on my jeep fixed so I can get my boat back up the launch ramp, I know where there's a couple of beaches on the river that should be really good places to hunt now that ppl are getting back on the water.
