I got up with my buddy yesterday for a half day hunt and decided to try the old park one last time before
the grass takes off growing( it is starting to green up now ).
I have been searching this park since last August finding alot of clad and after clearing much of the shallow signals,
I started finding wheat pennies pretty regular with the Sovereign GT.
I finally got up to 94 wheaties and decided to try to get 6 more wheat pennies before giving this site a break til next fall.
I was digging many iffy signals and got fooled by deep nails, but did manage to get the 6 wheaties to make a nice 100 wheat pennies from this one area.
I also got a nice bonus with the 1962 dime, a war nickel, and some kind of token.
The oldest wheatie find yesterday was the lower one in the middle... 1915 D in crappy condition.
Oh well, at least I got a date off of it.
The other dates were 1934,1935,1939,and 2 1946's.
Other finds from this park include: 4 IH cents,a V nickel, a Buffalo nickel, a 1919 Canadian LC,4 Mercury dimes,1Rosie dime,
and 1 silver Washington quarter all found with the Sovereign.
My silver to wheat ration here is 16.4 to 1......There has got to be more silver still in there yet with all those wheats!!
After I get some more time in with the Sovereign, perhaps I can squeeze a few more good finds from this park.
I have really enjoyed using this fine detector at this site and have learned alot about it.
Thanks to all that gave me advice and answered my questions on learning to understand this machine.
