Park hunt turns up a Centennial dime!

I spent about 1/2 hour at one park and within the first 15 minutes I dug the 1876 Seated Dime. That's my first seated from this particular park but I've dug older indians there. Probably another one in there somewhere.
Then I moved to another park and even with kids following me almost the entire hunt I managed to find 3 Indians and a sharp 1912 D Barber dime.
Those kids were full of questions. "Why would so many people lose so many old coins here?", "Why don't you check over there?", "Don't they make a detector that doesn't detect iron?",
"Do you like this job?", "Are you here everyday?", "Can I have the silver dime?"
Kids, you gotta love 'em!

VERY nice finds, that dime is sharp! Congrats on the centennial!

Both of those are nice pieces of silver. The soil is a lot kinder to your IHs than the field soil is here around Indy.

Congrats on the silvers and the IHs Neal.:clapping:
I think that kids are the same no matter
where you are detecting. I read your post
and just chuckled.....wonder how many of
us have had the same barage of questions
or more from curious kids!! Like you said

Nice finds! I don't mind the kids usually. They keep things interesting. When they do get to be a problem, I tell them my hunting buddy is finding all sorts of stuff so they run over to him. Of course, he always returns the favor. HH

Im still looking for my first seated dime and only found 1 Indian this year..WAY TO GO!

OK, here's one the kids didn't ask: Why'd ya leave after finding a Seated in 15 min???

Excellent finds - and questions too!

Looks like a nice one too. Great finds buddy!

I know that park well and it is absolutely a pounded/hunted out park. That seated was a fluke. In fact I've not found anything worth taking home the last 20 hours of digging there. So I wanted to increase my odds for a better day and move to a better park.
I just stopped there to try one little corner where I found a few wheats last time and it paid off!

Congrats on the Seated and sharp looking Barber Dime. Still looking for my first Seated this year. Hope you find a few more keepers from that spot. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.

Nice finds Neal. I have just one mercury dime so far but there will hopefully be more to come.
