If it doesn't apply., you don't hafta be a rider or join a 'club' to join in. All are welcome.
My name is Dan Sutter. I am a 24 year-old student and currently-serving member of the PA Army National Guard. I have been aware of the Patriot Guard Riders for some time, and now with the renewal of the controversy over the Westboro Baptist Church, I wanted to take some time to express my deep appreciation for heroes like you and your organization. I feel like in today's world, we don't often hear appreciation and gratitude expressed. While not yet having the experience of losing a friend in combat, I have empathy for those who have. My deep feelings of grief are always tempered by the knowledge that that Airman, Soldier, or Marine died in the service of his nation. My heart breaks when I hear that the funerals of those young, valiant men and women who died that we may live free are being picketed by people who would use their funeral for a political statement. Funerals should be sacred, free from the raucous babbling of charlatans and wolves. My heart soars, however, when I see videos or read stories on the Patriot Guard Riders. Your organization preserves the privacy and sanctity that the fallen hero deserves. Your organization is proof that this country is still made of great, and noble people who are willing to sacrifice to lift another. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I believe the world can take a lesson from the noble and free spirits of the Patriot Guard Riders. Thank you for continuing to "Stand for Those who Stood for Us."
Yours gratefully
