Pawn shop Quick Draw 2 find!

new to this forum...so hi all. I have been an avid detectorist for only 10 years, and have owned many "top notch" detectors all different brands. I have made many good finds, and yesterday with a $50 pawn shop Quick Draw2, I collected $4.55 in clad, including many nickels which surprised me. One nickel in particular is a 1906 v nickel, and was down around 4 inches!! The pic is bad it came from my phone, but I guess it just goes to show...no matter what brand, or price tag, if you keep tryin your odds increase. I am getting back into the hobby after a short retirement..LOL...I know this is the bounty hunter forum, but I am thinkin about getting a teknetics or garrett unit (something cheap, yet functional). I think Teknetics is Bounty Hunter, is that right?? I guess my only complaint with the quick draw is that it does not have pinpoint mode...other than that it seemed to work well...any thoughts on next detector appreciated.

thanks,

Rich

You may want to soak that nickel in white vinegar for several days. That should clean it up a little. The pic isn't that bad. At the rate your going you'll have your investment back by the end of the month.
I'm a big fan of the Teknetics T-2 myself. There may be alot of used ones available by spring.

Welcome to the forum and keep us posted.

First Texas Products makes Bounty Hunter, Teknetics and Fisher detectors.

the QD2 is the same as the pioneer 202 that was made for walmarts-its a very good machine-got a silver bracelet once at 10" in a dry up lake-for $50. ya did real good and CCadrin is right all three are made by same co.
