Pennies from heaven

Well with the kids finally back to school and the wife at work, I thought it would be a good time to do some detecting.Went to a tot lot that i haven't hit yet this year and most likely nobody else has since it is well hidden. It only had two play things there but thought I would give it a try. I started with the swing set and found a few coins but not what I thought I would find.I thought there would be more, which made me think someone else had been there. I moved over to the wooden play scape and started to find coins and i mean coins but the funny thing is most of them where pennies and dimes. I couldn't move my detector without it sounding off. I spent 3 hours that area digging and digging and digging but nothing over an inch deep. In all I found 169 coins. The break down is 6 quarters, 2 nickles, 33 dimes and 128 pennies with 1 being a 1941 wheatie. I also found 3 charms and 1 hot wheel car and 1 game token for chuckie cheese.

As I sit here writing this I am looking outside where the skies have opened up and the rain and hail have started. the forecast is rain and snow, glad I got out early.

Nice hunting...I like the "well hidden" tot lot theme. I've been searching Google Maps for more tot lots in my area. Now if i can just ditch outta work.... its been raining fairly heavily in Northern Virginia also - today is off/on.
