PF mode works well..

Hunted 2 freshly plowed cornfields today and the T2 in Mode 1 did a good job. With the uneven ground it tends to read more iron upscale but a quick (better) resweep of the target or boot scrape shows it for what it is. Because of the upscale readings I feel you miss fewer non-ferrous targets in those conditions. This is one of the traits I liked with the EDGE, it shows the same type of upscale response on signals in uneven ground which also lets you catch more good targets. IMO the tone could be a little higher or something done a bit different with the iron sounds bleeding thru as they are very similar except for the duration of the sound, but I'm picking nits. I ran disc at 22 otherwise would have been chasing more false signals. Overall, job well done by Dave and John.

Thanks for sharing Tom,

Every bit of information from actual T-2 users helps others new to the unit get a better grasp on the mighty detector.

Plus, I'm so glad you mentioned John, John Gardner was just as much involved with the T-2's success and now the F-75 as Dave Johnson is. Without John we wouldn't have a T-2 or F-75.

Two fine engineers in the business, Looking forward to seeing what they do next :)

Hi Paul,

Yeah we owe these guys a lot. The T2 is a fine all terain machine but...I still want to get up on my soap box and say I wish they would fix the few (and I mean few) faults of the Coinstrike to make it what it should be for those looking for a great coin machine. Dimitar came up with 2 great new designs in the C$ and Edge and after using the T2 I can see a few traits that might be due to his input as well.

If I was a a relic hunter and wanted to eek out every last possible non-ferrous target from a site that is the mode to use. In areas that have too much iron for all metal, mode 1 is the best option IMO. Set disc in the 20-22 range and go for it. At 20 a lot of nails come in solid but you can always glance at the meter and if its a solid iron reading pass it up. Or, raise the disc to 21 and alot of the iron that comes in solid at 20 breaks up (snaps/pops)... raise the disc to 22 and that same iron is silent. Thats a REAL nice iron disc range. Like I said ya gotta be dedicated and be willing to dig some iron chasing iffy signals but, at the same time it will find you the non-ferrous co-located stuff.

at a one room school house and I can see why some like that mode as well. I agree on hearing the iron, the iron "grunt" of the T2 is a lot easier on the ears than some other detectors I could name.

The school has been well hunted by many but, the T2 in 3 tones was able to find (2) 8" deep wheat pennies. The target ID and depth reading were right on the mark!
